Job creation: Abigail Kims, the jewel in the crowd

The fight against unemployment in Cameroon has for some time been propagated by the government and stakeholders. Professional schools and universities have continued to graduate certificate holders who keep joining the thousands in the job market. The dependency on the state for employment and the private sector has not been friendly to many. Individual efforts to put food on the table appear to be the only way out for the Cameroon youth.

One person who has been in the job market in Cameroon and has decided to change the narrative is 23-year-old Kimbi Abigail popularly known as Abigail Kims.
The native from Nkambe, Donga Mantung Division, North West region of Cameroon, is a professional home cleaner. She offers home services including home laundry, home cleaning, and kitchen activities. She does this to earn a living and take care of her family.

"If you have dirty dresses and want them to be washed, ironed and folded, I am available. If you want your house fixed and cleaned and if you want your food well cooked, I am available", Kimbi Abigail told The Safeguard.
She is based in Yaounde, TKC, and she works Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Motivation...

Quizzed on why she decided to do this type of job, Kimbi Abigail said while laughing "No be certificate di pay ma bills". She went further to disclose that, she chose this job because she wants to be self employed.
"I have a baby to feed and a family back home is looking up to me. So far as it's clean money, I am ready to dirty my hands to work the money", Kimbi Abigail said.
To her, everyone has a life to live and so must struggle to survive and make ends meet.
"Let's not seat and wait for the government to employ us.Because that employment will never come for all of us. Use your head now before it's too late. Get busy with useful activities and stop depending on the government to employ you", Kimbi Abigail advices the youths.

Life has never been all that rosy for everyone. Some people face difficulties to feed and clothe themselves on daily basis. The situation is even more precarious for those who have a family looking up to them for survival.
