Bamenda II Council gifts Atuakom and Akumalan health centres



The Atuakom and Akumalan health centres in the  Bamenda II municipality, Mezam division of the North West region have  received from the Bamenda II council medical equipment worth 17 million francs CFA.

The medical equipment were handed over to the health centres Thursday July 8, 2021 in a ceremony chaired by the Mayor of the Bamenda II council, Chenwi Peter.

Microscopes, electronic blood pressure machines, incinerators, wheelchairs, beds, photocopy machine, Vacuum extractor, mamal BP apparatus amongst other items were handed over to the two health centres.


Mayor Chenwi Peter during the handing over ceremony cautioned the chiefs of the two health centres to make good use of the equipment and use it for the required purpose.

Fri Solange, Chief of Centre, Atuakom health centre and Maleh Solange, Chief of Centre Akumalan health centre disclosed that their health centres requested for the materials due to its urgent need as they was acute shortage of medical equipment.


The donation of these medical equipment is coming after the mayor paid the bills of some patients at the Bamenda regional hospital.

In the days ahead, the Bamenda II council will proceed to donate medical equipment to three other health centres within the municipality.
