One time Prime Minister of Cameroon, Hon. Simon Achidi Achu has been posthumously decorated and raised to the rank of Dignity of Grand cordon of the Cameroon order merit.
He was decorated by the representative of the Head of State, Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute Saturday July 3, 2021 during the official funeral organized in his honour at the grandstand in Santa, North West region of Cameroon.
The official funeral ceremony is massively attended by elite and traditional authorities from across the nation, top adminstrative officials of the North West region led by Governor Adolphe Lele Afrique.
In separate ceremonies to bid farewell to the fallen statesman, he has been described as a true statesman and a real political figure in Cameroon.
The Right Honourable Simon Achidi Achu died on May 4, 2021 in North Carolina, USA at the age of 86.
