PCC introduces Short Film/Video4Peace to Reduce Conflict

The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon under it's Peace Office on August 2, 2021 in Douala launched a five day workshop to train and inspire some youth leaders on documentary and short films for Peace.

Selected from the North West, South West, Litoral and Centre regions of the country, the participants will benefit from innovative trainings on how to write a documentary, and do short films to enhance peace and social cohesion.

Opening the workshop, the Presbyterial Secretary for Moungo Presbytery, Rev. Kang Denis, enjoined the participants to use knowledge acquired to impact humanity by enhancing peace in their respective regions.

"When I look at the young people, I am confident that what they will learn here shall reach their communities", Rev. Kang Denis said.

On his part, Rev Nta William Nche, the National Peace Coordinator of the PCC, said the church in it's peace efforts uses different strategies to transform conflict, heal and build peace in communities.

Organised with sponsorship from the Civil Peace Service, CPS, the training is also aimed at drilling the participants on diversed fields of documentary and videos for peace.

"The participants are being taught on how to develop a story on the activities that have been going on as regards the crisis from the point of empathy", Rev Nta William Nche said.

The workshop is holding on the theme “Developing Creative Potentials For Peace in Youth” with support from Civil Peace Project (CPS).


The objective is to engage youth in creative film work that promotes peace, understanding, tolerance and social cohesion.

Participants during the training shall gain tips on Understanding Film and Documentary Production, Photography/Videography, Sound Recording, Video Editing Live Shooting and Production.

The five days workshop will be facilitated by Akumbu Jones, a widely experienced dramatist and Kouamo Arnaud a Freelance Journalist.

The workshop ends on Friday August 6, 2021.
