Thousands of people have welcomed Prime Minister, head of government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute to Bamenda.
Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute is in Bamenda for a 4-day official visit to evaluate the achievements of the Major National Dialogue.
Before moving to Bamenda, chief town of the North West region of Cameroon, the prime minister was welcomed at Matazem, Santa by top administrative authorities of the region led by North West governor, Adolphe Lele Afrique and the president of the North West Regional Assembly Professor Fru Angwafor III.
Speaking to the huge crowd that came out to welcome him at upstation Bamenda, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute said a lot has been done to ensure the return of peace in the restive North West and South West regions of Cameroon.
"We came here sent by our father President Paul Biya. We were here two years ago where we held talks and organised a meeting to look at the problems we are facing in the North West and South West regions"
"Two years after, we are here to tell the population of the North West that what they asked us to do and what he promised to do, has been done already", Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute told the crowd.
He reiterated that the problems put forth by the teachers, lawyers and politicians, already have their solutions.
"Everyone does not know about these solutions, we are here to explain", PM Joseph Dion Ngute said.
He reminded the population that since they want peace, it has to be their collective efforts.
During his four days stay in Bamenda, the Prime Minister is expected to hold talks with the Governor of the North West region, the military generals, Members of Parliament, Regional, administration and security officials, religious and traditional authorities, political parties, civil society Organisations amongst others.
