CAMACA Awards 2021: PCC Peace Office receives Special Award for Promoting Peace

The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, Peace Office has received a special award for its role in promoting peace in Cameroon and particularly in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.

During the award ceremony held at the Alliance Franco Hall in Bamenda, Saturday, October 31, 2021, Chutio Kouamo Arnaud, CEO of Camraise Academy saluted the efforts of the PCC through its Peace Office in preaching the values of peace in the country and for strengthening the capacity of peace advocates.

Speaking to the press shortly after receiving the award, Rev. Asah Peter Ashu, Moderators representative for the North West acknowledged that the PCC is a key player when it comes to issues of peace in Cameroon.

"The PCC is a key player in matters of peace in Cameroon and the Rev. Nta William, the Peace Office have been very very instrumental", he said.

He prayed that efforts of the PCC Peace Office should continue to yield fruits so that peace will one day return to the restive North West and South West regions.

Receiving the special award from the youth, the Rev. Asah Peter said it is very special because the young people are the future of the country and the church.

"The young people are the future of the country and the church and I think they are just playing their roles so that they realize their dreams as the future leaders and church", Rev. Asah Peter said.

Also present at the award ceremony was the PCC National Peace Office Coordinator, Rev Nta William who wasn't indifferent to the Moderators representative.

"We are here today for a purely organized Youth Award because we know the youth are the leaders of tomorrow. Thank you very much for recognizing the works of the PCC in promoting Peace", Rev. Nta William said.

The PCC Peace Office is specialized in capacity building, nonviolent actions, and mediation. It has a top-notch International standard program, The Training of Trainers, TOT, workshop which has gathered national and global interest from organizations and peace workers.
