Innovation: e-Mentor Africa, bringing the classroom to our doorsteps

“Education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world” – Nelson Mandela.

In the conflict-afflicted areas of Cameroon, as well as many African countries, education is under attack.

The COVID-19 pandemic did not do any justice to the life of education on a global scale as well.

And so, as a result of this, an initiative known as e-Mentor Africa saw the light of day.

e-Mentor Africa is out to ensure that, if students cannot go to their classrooms, the platform brings the classroom to them.

Now, how's this possible, or how feasible is it?

e-Mentor Africa has its goal to use Extended Reality to solve the problem of an attack on education by creating an immersive digital and remote education experience that will enable students to study from the safety and comfort of their homes.

In Cameroon, it will be relevant in helping students in rural areas where schools have been burnt to “go” back to school.

Imagine a setting where students have the ability to study in their classroom, but from home, without having to move a muscle. This is what e-Mentor Africa is aimed at coming up with; to alleviate casualties subjected to education by insecurity, and revolutionize it thereof.

We know how important education is to everyone, and want to equalize access to quality education for every Cameroonian, as well as every African.

After winning several awards at the national and international level, we have once again been nominated at the Global Start-Up Awards.

e-Mentor Africa has won at the national level so far, and right now it competes with 8 African countries.

We will not be able to put Cameroon on the map without your help. Together we can change the narrative of our country.
