Hon Agho Oliver Extends Largesse To Widow in Bafut

Uncontrolleable and emotional tears of joy and excitement greeted Mama Lum Monica, 77 years old Widow in Njibujang- Bafut when she unexpectedly received New house equipment donated by Agho Oliver, MP for the Bafut/Tubah constituency.

The donation comprising a new 'penya penya' bed, mattress, bedspreads, and blankets, was the result of an outreach effort by Juliana Sirri's community-based foundation, Vision for Hope, which unearthed the desperate, dehumanizing, and unbearable living conditions of this widow, long abandoned to herself.

Lacking virtually all that people take for granted elsewhere-minimum standards of living conditions-and living on less than 1$ a day, Mama Lum Monica, was genuinely surprised to discover there were people in society like Hon. Agho Oliver, who still cared.

Presenting the donation to Mama Monica, Juliana Sirri and a team of volunteers thanked God for the donor and wished God would continue to use him to change the lives of others in Bafut and elsewhere, who live under despondent and deplorable conditions, for no fault of theirs.

Echoing the wisdom of the old, Juliana thought that 'one person caring about another represents life's greatest value', and that Agho Oliver was that person.

Without wasting time, her team of volunteers immediately went to work, dismantling the deteriorated bamboo bed, discarding the old bedbug breathing beddings, cleaning and disinfecting the home, before adorning it with the new furniture bed.

In response to this parliamentary magnanimity, the old widow thanked God Almighty for making her smile again after years of living in deplorable conditions and abandonment. She saw in Hon. Agho Oliver and Vision for Hope organization, the husband to widows and the destitute and prayed to God to continue to replenish and protect their sources.

Neighbors were genuinely happy a good samaritan in the name of their young honorable gentleman had done the one thing needful-putting a small on the face of an old widow. The Sunday, April 3, 2022, event in Bafut gave villagers a rare opportunity to relive Theodore Roosevelt's statement that 'Nobody cares how much you have and knows until they know how much you care.
