🇨🇲National Day 2022: Hon. Malomba Esembe Knighted

The Member of Parliament for Buea Urban constituency, Hon. Malomba Esembe has been illuminated the Knight of the Order of Valour medal. Hon. Malomba Esembe received the distinction on May 20th, 2022 at the Buea Independence Square from South West Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai.

The medal awarded to the emblematic Hon. Malomba Esembe comes at a time Cameroon is celebrating its Golden Jubilee of reunification.

For the past 20 years, Hon. Malomba has dedicated his life to the public service. The 36-year-old Member of Parliament most years of his working life in the public service.

Malomba Esembe who is now a Knight of the Cameroon Order of Valour is a magistrate on secondment to the National Assembly where he is serving as MP for Buea Urban constituency since March 2020.

The May 20th, 2022 recognition comes two years after he was appointed to the rank of Knight of the Order of Merit.

After completing his studies at ENAM in 2005, Hon. Malomba Esembe was posted to the High Court in Kribi as court registrar. One year later, he was among the first set of civil servants to be appointed to the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

In 2008, he passed the entrance examination into the Magistracy section, cycle A of ENAM. Upon his graduation in 2010, he was posted to the office of the Attorney General of the South West region as Prosecuting Magistrate.

Due to the motivation he derived from President Paul Biya's exhortation to the Cameroon youths, he decided to run for the then vacant seat of MP for Buea Urban. On November 19, 2019, he was nominated by the CPDM party for the election which he contested and won on February 9, 2020.

In the National Assembly, he is the Vice chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Laws, and Executive President of the Network of Cameroonian Legislators for Road Safety. He is also the Chair of the South West Regional Committee in charge of Monitoring the Execution of the Public Investment Budget.

In addition, he is a certified Elections Observer (KAIPTC, Ghana) and served on the Commonwealth Observer Mission to the Zambia General Elections in August 2021. He is an Elder of the Presbyterian Church Bokwaongo and a member of the Synod (highest organ of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon). He holds a Postgraduate degree in Law and has attended training and conferences in Cameroon, Ghana, the UK, USA. He is married and father of three kids.
