Ashunganya Precious, winner of April Edition of the Digital Literacy Contest


Ashunganya Precious has been named the winner of the April edition of the Digital Literacy Contest organized by Sisterspeak237.

According to Sisterspeak237, the entry from Ashunganya Precious recorded a score of 95/100 from her online votes which constitutes 50%, and that of the jury which completes the other 50%.

The April edition of the Digital Literacy Contest received three entries from women who according to Sisterspeak237 demonstrated their understanding of combating fake news and hate speech.

The other two entries ranked Akalambi Clare at the second position with a score of 80/100.

According to Ndamo Damaris, one of the members of the jury, the 4th edition of the contest was very engaging.

"This 4th edition has been very engaging and proves the mission and goals to spread love and peace through media literacy have been achieved by both the contestants and Sisterspeak237", Ndamo Damaris said.

She also highlighted that, over the months and editions, the jury members perused through amazing creative works of Art by different contestants who according to her understood the primary purpose of the campaign.

"From spoken word to short films/drama concepts pioneered by these contestants have been laudable and I must applaud them for that", she concluded.

The April edition of the Digital Literacy Contest brings the contest to an end.

The Digital Literacy Contest is part of the Digital Literacy Project currently under implementation with funds from the US Embassy in Cameroon.

It should be noted that the contest kicked off with the training of 46 youth and influencers in the South West region around the concepts of fake news and hate speech.

With the contest coming to an end, Sisterspeak237 has encouraged youths to continue in the fight against fake news and hate speech.
