North West: Bamenda II Mayor applauds President Biya's 40 years reign



The Mayor of Bamenda II council, Mayor Chenwi Peter in a message on the occasion to mark the 40th anniversary of H.E President Paul Biya in power, applauded his leadership skills.

The ruby Jubilee which was celebrated at the Bamenda Commercial avenue grandstand saw Mayor Chenwi Peter express joy on behalf of the denizens of Bamenda II.

"It is with immense joy that I, on behalf of the people of Bamenda II subdivision wish you a happy 40th anniversary at the helm of the state.

Amongst your numerous achievements of peace, development, youth and women empowerment, health care, and access to free education, you have proven your exemplary leadership, especially in a democracy", Mayor Chenwi wrote.

According to the mayor, the leadership skills of the president are a motivation.

"Your visionary leadership has seen many young persons propelled into leadership positions like me.

You are indeed a great leader, an icon, and a fountain that emergent Cameroon leans on", he added.

Talking about the difficulties the president has faced while in office, Mayor Chenwi Peter highlighted the President of the Republic has successfully dealt with every crisis that popped up during his stay in office.

He noted that the population is happy with the way the anglophone crisis has been handled.

"Our wish is that in the end, the principles of living together, national unity, and national integrity will be fortified. Because we have only one Cameroon. United in its diversity, decentralized and prosperous", he concluded.

President Paul Biya took over power on November 6 1982 and has since then been at the helm of the country.
