The Bamenda chapter of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, CAMASEJ, now has a new president.
Elected on November 11, 2022, during the monthly meeting of the association in Bamenda, Muma Jude Awa will pilot the affairs of the chapter for the next two years.
Speaking during the handing over and installation ceremony Friday, December 16, 2022, the outgoing President Ndi Tsembom Elvis appreciated all the members for their support to the outgoing executive.
"I have served CAMASEJ for 6 years in several positions, it's time to be a floor member. Thank you all for the support", Ndi Tsembom Elvis told the members.
He called on the incoming president to follow up on the MoU with Blue Pearl Hotel, Jeps Hotel, and the Bamenda Regional Hospital.
In terms of image branding, Ndi Tsembom Elvis noted that CAMASEJ has gone far.
"We made CAMASEJ the leading association in the region", he said.
While calling on members to support the new team, the outgoing President paid his CAMASEJ dues for 2023.
On his part, Jato Richard Tonga, National Public Relations Officer, representing the National Executive called on the new executive to work to improve the media relations and work content through the usual autocratic of the chapter.
He assured the new team of the unflinching support of the national executive to the new team.
The new CAMASEJ Bamenda President, Muma Jude Awa on his part appreciated the members for trusting the new team by giving their votes to them.
"We won't promise you heaven or Paradise. We are going to continue from where the outgoing executive ended", he said.
To the National Office, Muma Jude promised that his executive will not fail.
"Tell CAMASEJ National that we are ready to serve anytime we are needed", he said.
Muma Jude Awa is the Chief of Programs at Radio Hot Cocoa in Bamenda. He was the financial secretary of the Ndi Tsembom Elvis-led CAMASEJ North West.
