Newly elected CNYC Executive challenged to uphold the laws of the country, keep NW on top


The North West Regional President of the Cameroon National Youth Council, CNYC, Mekom Samuel Taleh, and his team have been challenged to uphold the laws of the country and continue to keep the North West region on top of national events.

The call was made Friday, March 10, 2023, by the North West governor Adolphe Lele L'Afrique during the official installation of the Executive Bureau of the Cameroon National Youth Council for the North West.

While installing the new team, the governor saluted the strides made so far by the new team citing the 11th of February 2023 when Mekom Samuel Taleh mobilized hundreds of youth for the occasion. He described the new team as the "game changers".


Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, National President of the Cameroon National Youth Council called on the youth of the North West region to massively support the new team. To her, the team will make the North West region great again.

She saluted the dynamism of the team, especially with the presence of four women.

"I love the diversity of the new team with four competent ladies", she said.

She cited the numerous opportunities available for young people through the three years special youth plan put in place by the President of the Republic. To benefit from it, Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, called on the youth to be responsible and disciplined.



Earlier in his welcome address, the City Mayor of Bamenda Achombong Tembang Paul encouraged the youth to uphold the value of discipline, embrace peace and shun violence.

On her part, the regional delegate of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Odilia Fri Mbangwie, reminded Mekom Samuel and his team that they should lead by example.

He takes over from Nchia Bertrand and will pilot the affairs of the North West bureau of the Cameroon National Youth Council for three years.

Born on July 17, 1996, in Pinyin, Santa subdivision, Mekom Samuel Taleh is a graduate of the Higher Technical Teachers Training College, of the University of Bamenda with a DIPET II in ICT.

He is the vice YCPDM section President for Mezam 1A.

As far as his work life is concerned, he is the Director General of SAMSYTECH Company Cameroon, Proprietor of Competence Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, and High School Teacher GTHS Bamenda Nkwen amongst others.

The Cameroon National Youth Council encourages youth to become active citizens by providing them with opportunities to increase their skills, influence their communities, and learn about governance through direct participation.
