The University of Bamenda has beaten the University of Yaounde I by two goals to zero in their opening match of the ongoing University Games in Ngaoundere.
A first-half sublime finish from striker Teke Anyen Noselbeth and a second-half goal from Nfiaboh Desmond was enough for UBa to grab all three points.
The University of Bamenda who won the gold medal during the last edition of the games in Dschang dominated the opening quarter of the match with Teke Anyen, Song Ncham Edmund, and Desmond Nfiaboh giving tough times to the University of Yaounde 1.
25 minutes gone into the match, Teke Anyen Noselbeth from a corner kick that was poorly defended by the University of Yaounde 1 acrobatically scored to give UBa the lead.
In the second half, Song Ncham Edmund delivered a perfect cross to Desmond Nfiaboh who netted UBa's second of the match.
All efforts from the University of Yaounde 1 to get back into the match were futile.
UBa now tops Pool A of the 2023 University Games with 3 points and +2 goals.
